The Fashion Show
With creative direction from Jess Minnick of Not Sorry Goods each model has been paired with their own designer to bring their creative vision to life and curate personalized looks that reflect the resilience, individuality, and vibrant experiences of LGBTQ+ older adults. Every outfit is designed to reflect their personal style and story while celebrating the vibrant and diverse experiences of LGBTQ+ older adults. Thanks to Jess, the designers, and the models, the runway will be a powerful expression of their resilience, individuality, and impact on our community.
Entertainment
Cocktail hour will feature a musical cabaret with vocalists Jay Kaplan and Jeffrey Willets , accompanied by Nick Frederick on piano and Jesse Gibbs on percussion, performing both classic and modern Broadway tunes.
Back by popular demand, the iconic Mocha Pronto and the legendary Lady T will co-emcee the event while delivering dazzling performances that will keep the energy high and the crowd entertained throughout the show.
Awards
New this year, MiGen will be celebrating and honoring two organizations and two individuals for their outstanding contributions to the LGBTQ+ older adult community. Stay tuned for the official announcement of the award recipients!
A Historic Venue
This year’s event will be held at the Detroit Yacht Club, located along the banks of Belle Isle Park. Founded by sailing enthusiasts shortly after the Civil War in 1868, it is one of the oldest private clubs in the United States. The Detroit Yacht Club has served presidents, local statesmen, and Hollywood elites, remaining resilient through the Great Depression. Today, it is the largest yacht club in the United States and the 12th oldest in the country, proudly located in the heart of Detroit.
A $25 ticket includes hors d'oeuvres and access to an open beer and wine bar.
